The May-2022 hail in my area left me with concerns that my roof may have been damaged. I needed an inspection and began searching for for roofing contractors. I wanted a local, reputable, BBB accredited company represented by someonethat I could feel comfortable working with.I found all that and more with Jake and Gold Star Contracting in Shakopee, MN. The entire process from his initialinspection through the end of my roof and gutter install went flawlessly. Jake is a great communicator and also agenuine, nice guy. His crew did my roof (44sq) in one day, what a great bunch of very experienced roofers.I sure am glad to have found a total solution and couldn't be happier ! Thanks Jake and crew !

I would definitely recommend Gold Star Contracting for your roofing/siding needs. Jake and his team did a fantastic job on our house! He communicated almost every day and returned all our calls promptly. He also worked with our Insurance Company directly so we did not have to have the hassle.He ensured all our questions and concerns were answered and went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. When I had concerns about the new siding and trim color matching the old, Jake went above and beyond in finding the old color to ensure a perfect match! All work was completed timely and on schedule. He came back to ensure the job was completed to our satisfaction and to see if we had any additional concerns or questions. Jake and his team were very courteous and professional. Would hire them again for this type of work.

Gold Star Contracting came out and did my roof when I was in the process of selling my house. They did a spectacular job kept me in the loop with the whole process from the first phone call through completion of the project. This summer my house was walloped by a hail storm. I emailed Frank (Crew Foreman) and he stopped by and did a free inspection. Frank found hail damage on the roof and downspouts. Next I contacted my insurance company who also sent an inspector who found damage as well.Everything from start to finish flowed extremely well. Frank and Jake were always quick to respond with questions I had even days after the project was done. This company is extremely professional, they set the day and time the crew will arrive and they will be there. My roof is aprox 4,000 sq foot, the crew started working at 7am and was completely done by 6pm. The crew cleaned up everything and you couldn't even tell they were there after they were done for the day. No nails in the yard and no garbage blowing around the neighborhood. They also take the extra steps to not damage landscaping and shrubs around the house. None of mine were damaged during the project.As a former roofer myself, I know good work compared to spotty work. Gold Star delivered and I highly recommend this company.

Gold Star was great to work with. Jake and his team re-sided our house and did new soffit and fascia. He paid attention to the unique details of our home and asked questions up front to make sure everything would be done right. Everything turned out great! I would definitely work with Gold Star again and I wish we had them do our roof too.

Jake was so great! We had an odd request (a removal of a TV satellite and patch where it had been screwed in)--and he was one of the only contractors around who would help with a smaller job like this. He was responsive, accommodating, and so very kind. Most of all: he did a great job! Please call Jake and he will walk you through any of your questions and help get what you need! I happily will recommend Gold Star to family and friends.

Working with both Frank and Jake was great. They were professional, and kept in great communication. The team completed the work all in one day and all the debris and nails were completely removed. They left everything better than it was when they arrived. We would use them again or suggest them to family and friends.

These guys are awesome. Inspection and scheduling was as smooth as it could be. They showed up, removed the old roof, replaced it, and had everything cleaned up like they were never here in record time - and in the snow. Our house looks great! I'd highly recommend 'em!

Goldstar has been the very best contractor experience we have had in the 50+ years in our home! After spending months searching for just the right shingle, we contacted GSC and although it was not the usual brand they installed, Jake was able to bid an extremely competitive price on our selection. Scheduling the job went very smoothly with Jake and Frank responding quickly to every communication. Installation was like clockwork with an efficient crew that was on the roof in Lake City by 8 a.m. and had the job completed and cleaned up by 3 p.m.the same day.Our roof looks great and we cannot thank Jake and his crew enough for a job so well done.

I can't say enough about our great experience with Jake and the team at Gold Star Contracting. After we had our hail damage insurance claim denied by insurance last summer, Jake gave us an honest assessment and we decided to replace our roof and gutters this year. The price and products that Gold Star offers are competitive, and Jake's prompt and clear communication really sets them apart! I have never worked with a contractor who is more "tuned in" to doing a great job. When I had multiple questions about the project or our options leading up to our install date, Jake always emailed me back within a day and usually much quicker than that! We found Gold Star because of a friend's recommendation, and I would definitely recommend them to any of my friends or family. You won't go wrong choosing Gold Star to work on your home.

We just had our roof replaced for our single-family home by Jake's crew at Gold Star contracting and I must say what a fabulous experience it was! This was for our rental home in MN and we live in GA. While researching for the roofer, I was very afraid about getting ripped off especially because am not in the state.Jake was referred to us by our realtor and I usually always get multiple quotes for the job before hiring someone but the moment I had my first call with Jake I knew he is my guy for the roof. He came across to me a very straight forward, prompt, honest contractor who knew the roofing game really well and he knew within the first few mins what I am looking for in terms of quality of work and customer service. I still can't forget what he said - "I will sell you the gold quality roof at 45% off prices".I didn't believe him till I saw his quote that he sent after a couple of days after he did a thorough roof inspection of my property. He didn't try to get my business by promising me that we can claim this through insurance like many storm chasing roofers do and I can do this and that. He was straight with me that this won't qualify for an insurance claim and it's best we don't file an insurance claim.His quote was very reasonable and easy to understand. He also offered to clean my gutters, remove the dish on the roof that I am no longer using, fix one of the siding of the home that was rotten at no charge in his quote. I was sold. We right away got on the phone and after he clarified a few of my questions I ordered my roof.He booked me on his first available time slot which was just a few days later. One day before the appointment he pulled the permit from the county and sent me their approval without any of my involvement. Wow!On the day of the appointment, he and his huge experienced crew showed up first thing in the morning and worked very hard the entire day and got everything completed with high quality. They not only fixed extra things Jake promised, but they also cleaned up everything the same day and left.The experience I had with Jake has been by far one of my best experiences in the construction industry which is very rare to find these days.I will recommend him to my friends and family in a heartbeat. If every contractor who bid on a project were like Jake at Gold Star Contracting, our decisions would be much more difficult. Gold Star was so clearly above the rest in terms of candor, value, and integrity that the decision to contract with them for a roofing, facia, soffit and gutter project was a no brainer.Jake contacted me and came out and bid on our project in Bloomington a day after I submitted my request on his website. I was impressed by his frank approach to our meeting. He saw everything I wanted to do, and he gave me his best price later that afternoon without any upsell or even a sales pitch. In the weeks before Install, Jake contacted me to confirm the install date and to confirm some details of the project. He was at my house at the beginning of the roofing project for the delivery of the shingles, and he introduced me to the foreman working the job. Jake checked all the details of my (somewhat) irregular roof with both me and his crew to confirm it was exactly correct, and he made changes on site to more than double the number of vents I had for air circulation in my attic.In the short conversation I had with him on my lawn during the project, it was obvious why he has only 5-star reviews. He is building a strong business by rejecting all of the practices for which he knows contractors get a bad rap. I have already recommended him to four friends and neighbors, and I asked him to bid out a siding job, which I'll likely have done in a few years. In the siding bid, Jake counseled me against the most expensive options that I had requested. The crew who shingled the roof were efficient and clean, completing our 34 square hipped roof in one day. The crew hanging the soffits and facia stayed late into the night to get the job done, and the gutters with leaf protection were installed in fewer than three hours.The work gave our 50 year old house a nice refresh. Many other contractors could have done that, but hiring Gold Star made us feel secure and happy with who was getting our money.

After dealing with a couple of "door-to-door" roofers, Gold Star was recommended to us by a neighbor. Our experience with Gold Star Contracting has been fantastic. If I had to pick a word to describe this company, it would be "honest." The estimate for our roofing job was accurate and focused on fixing the problem at hand, not extracting the most money possible from an insurance company. They went out of their way to get us taken care of and took the time required to help us make an informed choice on re-roofing. Watching the crew, it was obvious that they had been working together for a while and knew what they were doing. The finished product is great and we are very, very happy with our new roof. We could not possibly recommend Gold Star Contracting enough.

We recently used Gold Star for a complicated and time sensitive roof replacement for our house. Jake's quoted costs were fair and reasonable and he and his crew were able to complete the work within the tight timeline we had available. He was extremely helpful working around our schedule both for inspecting the roof as well as the actual replacement.He did an excellent job of helping to work thru our insurance adjuster to ensure they better understood the extent of damage after the initial on site adjuster found only modest amounts. Lastly, I commend him for his frequent and effective communication both with us and the insurance company.I highly recommend Gold Star and Jake to anyone looking for a roofing contractor. High quality, timely service, fair prices, and great communications make certain this would be my only call should we require future work.
